I thought the apostrophe was a fine substitute for the comma.
Yeah, I goofed with some of the numbers.
9 for 6 would work. E for 3. L for 7. ..etc. 4 is a problem.

But the whole matter is not as "not proper" than the original violation.

Yeah... I can see that. You're sending with CP437.

in this case, it is because there's no UTF-8 in that reply... the BBS is smart when it comes to deciding if a message is UTF-8 or not... posts without UTF-8 are marked as ASCII or CP437 or maybe whatever the system's default codepage is... if a UTF-8 character is found in the post, then the message should carry the UTF-8 control line...

so yeah, the BBS properly displays UTF-8... this editor cannot currently properly quote UTF-8... i can enter UTF-8 characters in it, though... so as a quick test:

ä ö ô Ç

i'm not sure about that last one... i think it should be the capital C with a tail (cedilla?)... i'm still working on trying to understand this linux "compose" method of entering these characters... it is very different than the old ALT-123 style used in DOS/winwhatever installations...

Lucky you, you are myopic. I am hypermetropic, I always need glasses..

I have multifocus glasses. The advantage of always needing them is that I do not take them off and so never have to seacrh for them. ;-)
