• D'Bridge mailer still viable?

From "NOMAD" to FidoNet.FIDO_UTIL on Tue Apr 6 22:16:36 2004
Hi, I've got an old D'Bridge mailer and was wondering if this is still a
viable utility. I have an old license for it so would like to consider using
it w/Synchronet if that is the preferred util for that. If not, I'm
interested in hearing what most other people are using.

I still have an old Searchlight BBS system running on an old system which I
can fire up too, and I'd like to upgrade the hardware and utilities for that
as well, making it completely interfaced with the Internet. I'm not looking
at this time to provide POTS connectivity, although I do want to set that up without announcing the phone number.

Any input/discussion on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You should actually talk to Ward Dossche (Fidonet International Coordinator) about that-he's still running D'Bridge. I am not sure about if it's Y2K, etc. I knew one other sysop running D'Bridge, but he's long since disappeared, sadly. He said he did have it working nicely though when he did have it running.

What operating system are you running it under? I know that there is a freeware telnet engine/FOSSIL driver solution for Windows (GameSrv/NetFOSS) that I have used before with great success with Telegard, Maximus/NT and Shotgun. I currently run SIO/VMODEM under OS/2 (a great combo :).

    Later,

I bet it would work out with Synchronet, because Synchronet can use AttachMail Outbound Style too, which D'Bridge is using..

I've done some work with SquishMail (Maximus's Echomail Processor), and there is some comments about D'Bridge, If it doesn't work with Synchronet, I'll send Rob those "changes".

Roger Nelson/Ray Geneburn (they are sending from the same nodenumber) is still running D'Bridge, I've seen a message from him yesterday in ALASKA_CHAT.
