I just realized that my Fastecho v1.46 is registered to my name, but in my OLD node number (1:3639/22-Greenville, SC). Is that going to make a difference in whether or not it works?

    Thanks

    Hi! Papabill,

In a message to All you wrote:

I don't think so. If it were so, then FastEcho wouldn't ask for a 'main AKA' in the setup.

Recommend you netmail Mark Lewis at 1:3634/12 and ask, nicely. :)

    Cheers,
    Paul.

Nope. Mine is registered to my first ever node at 1:202/909...I've had
    several different nodes since.

What I find funny is that your FE doesn't put it's ID in the kludges.

Well, if it doesn't, I don't understand why. I don't understand about kludges, how to make them or how to stop them. If they wre 'disabled' it was purely a mistake.

Probably because you're writing messages in your BBS and it's tossing your
mail to FE. FE would treat that as mail from another system.

Kludges are written by the software you use and are usually unseen by the reader. It takes a special keystroke combination such as Alt-V, as used in GoldEd, to see them.

    i.e. if you can read mine or Paul Quinn's kludges, you will see;

    "TID: FastEcho 1.46.1 15059" (Paul's)

Mine would be the same, except the 15059 would be the number assigned to
my registered copy of FE. If I remember correctly, it's 8214...

I did the 'alt-v' in golded, and yours is "path;397/22 123/500 123/22-preceeded by a smiley face character"

That's my PATH from here to you. Look at the top of the screen when you do Alt-V and you should see other kludges, such as the TID for FE.
