I have a small problem with FastEcho that has made me move over to Gecho... BUT.. Gecho is not Y2k, so it screws up my dates.. at least I get the echomail tho... problem is this...

When I use 'FASTECHO SCAN' it scans my board fine, gets all the messages, and puts them in a packet, which ARGUS then sees, and delivers.. all well and good... but when 'FASTECHO TOSS' is used on the other end, all the messages imported to the BBS are marked private... and only the sysop, or priveleged users can view them...

Anyone know why this is happening?

I have never seen anything like that happen before. I wonder if
the tosser on the other end is adding the PVT bit to messages
that it tosses into the msgbase. Do you know what tosser is in
use at the other end and what switches are being used?

The tosser on the other end is the same version of FastEcho...

When I test, and scan with GECHO, and toss at the other end with FastEcho, it works fine... only Gecho screws dates up... and when we scan with FastEcho and toss with Gecho, still the private flag, so I am thinking it has to do with the way FastEcho is using the scan command.

Check the settings on the target system for: "FeSetup-->System-->Advanced Options-->New area defaults". If there's a *private* setting there it'll set new areas on the target that way.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

Nope, no go.. New Area Defaults says n/a, which basically means I dont use it, hmm.. this is getting to be ONE hassle... what other tossers are there that I can use?
