    Hello Everybody,

    Shame on America!

The French people gave the American people a present long ago,
a very real Statue of Liberty, with an engraved inscription of
a poem written by Emma Lazarus -

    The New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

    With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she

With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

And now, 31 governors, representing the people of
their respective states, have turned their backs on
those who are most desperately in need of our help.
30 of those governors are Republican, 1 is Democrat.
All of them a sorry excuse of a human being.

Here is a list of those states whose governors
oppose Syrian refugees coming in -

    1 Alabama
    2 Arizona
    3 Arkansas
    4 Florida
    5 Georgia
    6 Idaho
    7 Illinois
    8 Indiana
    9 Iowa
    10 Kansas
    11 Louisiana
    12 Maine
    13 Maryland
    14 Massachusetts
    15 Michigan
    16 Mississippi
    17 Nebraska
    18 Nevada
    19 New Hampshire
    20 New Jersey
    21 New Mexico
    22 North Carolina
    23 North Dakota
    24 Ohio
    25 Oklahoma
    26 South Carolina
    27 South Dakota
    28 Tennessee
    29 Texas
    30 Wisconsin
    31 Wyoming

Here is a list whose governors were brave enough to say
they are willing to accept refugees -

    1 Colorado
    2 Connecticut
    3 Delaware
    4 Hawaii
    5 Pennsylvania
    6 Vermont
    7 Washington

All the remaining governors are too chickenshit to say
    one way or another.

"Land of the free and home of the brave" my ass!

    SHAME ON AMERICA!

    Hello Bob,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Emma Lazarus' poem wasn't included with the statue, it came later.

His poem is quite fitting, and describes the American people
for who they are. Or rather, what the American people used to
be, but apparently are no longer.

And now, 31 governors, representing the people of
their respective states, have turned their backs on
those who are most desperately in need of our help.
30 of those governors are Republican, 1 is Democrat.
All of them a sorry excuse of a human being.

Tell us, Lee, how ypu propose to prevent terrorists from infiltrating
    their
    way in with these "refugees"?

It was not until after WWII that the United States
began making a distinction between the terms "refugee"
and "immigrant" - and even later "asylum" as a special
    case.

The US is a nation of immigrants. Every immigrant is
a potential terrorist. How does a nation of immigrants
go about protecting itself from potential immigrants?

If the USA decides to protect itself by becoming
"Fortress America" and denying entry to all who wish
to come here, will that make Americans any safer than
    before?

Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist. He was born and raised
right here in the good ol' US of A. We even trained him
to be a killer, in the US Army. He killed not only men
and women, but also children. Brings new meaning to the
term "baby-killer". Yeah. They taught him well at the
Army of God (a Christian militia he was a member of).

McVeigh used a home-made bomb to do his dirty work.
Loaded up a rental truck with ammonia nitrate and parked
the truck outside a federal building in Oklahoma City.
Walked away and watched it blow up from a distance.
Was later apprehended for questioning, about to be
released for lack of evidence, and would likely have
gotten away with it had a witness remained silent
    for one hour longer.

What about The Unabomber? And other home-grown
terrorists? We have no shortage. Some are in prison.
Most are not, freely walking the streets right now.
Some are in mental institutions. Most are not, living
freely in a community near you. Feel safer now?

Yeah. Most terrorists here are born and raised in
this very country. There are over 900 militias, most
of them Christian militias, no passports required.
All it takes is a belief in Jesus and a call to arms.

You asked a question as to how I would "propose to
prevent terrorists from infiltrating their way in with
    these `refugees'".

I do not believe it is possible to prevent terrorists
from infiltrating their way into this country, or into
any other country. A truly dedicated terrorist will
find his/her way into this country regardless of what
we do or try to do.

Besides, we have plenty of our own terrorists to deal
with, and have no idea as to how to go about doing so.

David Koresh and his group of Branch Davidians taught
    us that lesson at Waco.

Back to Syrian immigrants and how we got ourselves into
    this fine mess -

Of course, this whole mess is Jimmy Carter's fault.
Well, I guess you could say it was Ted Kennedy's fault
since he wrote it, and Carter signed it.

I am talking about the Refugee Act of 1980. It is the
brainchild of Ted Kennedy, who started thinking about
it the moment he became a liberal, started to put it in
writing in 1978, and introduced it to the US Senate in
1979. The bill was adopted by the Senate by a unanimous
vote on September 6, 1979, and signed by President Jimmy
Carter on March 17, 1980, becoming law on April 1, 1980.

This piece of fine legislation has remained virtually
    unchanged to the present day.

    Public Law 96-212.

Go ahead. Look it up. Print it out.

This is the road map of our future.

What is NOT being said by the news media -

This wonderful piece of legislation allows the spouse
and children of "refugees" to also enter this country.

No number of "spouse" or "children" is cited.

It gets weirder, but this is getting long, and I would
like to give you and others a chance to read the text of
the act before making further comment.

And will you accept unlimited civil liability for any damage these "refugees" might do?

And if the president is "insane"?
Who will then be held accountable?
Hell, I think we are all insane.
After all, we elected him (twice).

There were the whackos that were blowing up power transmission towers
on the West Coast back in the 1960s. Then there are the environmentalist whackos that are sabotaging timber harvests, among other things. We also
had the labor strikes by the teamsters and coal miners in the 1970s and
1980s, those strikers murdered several people. Then we have the anti-
abortion terrorists that have terrorized and/or murdered many people.

Wrongo. Those folks just wanted to be left alone, the government chose to attack them, they posed no threat to anyone.

One of them struck in Colorado Springs yesterday, murdering several,

other whacko, Jim Jones in Guyana.

Worked for JFK. Different mayor back in those days. Not so sure
the one they have now has the same sort of working relationship with
the dead as that guy. But who knows? The present mayor is a Jew,
who almost lost his bid for a second term to a fellow who spoke

I can't believe that the voters as a whole are going to want four more

Voters will be getting a "two-fer" with Hill and Bill.
No worries about the other guy, as he will be spending
time with his wife and daughters in Hawaii, or playing
    golf somewhere around the world.

Hillary is a proven liar just as Hussein is.

Oh, come now. Politicians never lie. They are just more
    expedient with the truth. ;)

She's even more inept at foreign policy than he has been (and continues to be), and before its over we'll be fighting for our survival as a nation of `Americans'.

As Secretary of State, her job was to present the administration's
point of view. Even if that point of view was counter to her own.

Democrats don't care about the country.

Neither do Republicans. Or politicians in general.

They don't care about our Founding Documents...or our laws.

Why should they? Expecting politicians to be patriots is
absurd, regardless of party. In fact, if you bother to read
the US Constitution, there is no mention of political parties
at all. Or economic system, for that matter.

They ignore or circumvent laws whenever it suits them.

Who wrote the US Constitution? Most of the framers of the
Constitution were lawyers. Wealthy lawyers. Who did they
serve? What interests did they want to protect?

There are millions of illegal aliens here thanks to democrats not
    enforcing
our laws. There will soon be many more `jihadis' here thanks to democrats.

Ronald Reagan was a Republican. He granted amnesty to millions
of undocumented workers so they could become US citizens. Most
of them are from Mexico, and are Christian, not Muslim.

The only thing democrats care about is being `in power'. Nothing else.

US Senator David Vitter (R-LA) was more interested in chasing
whores than supporting veterans. Vitter lost his bid to become
governor of Louisiana, getting trounced by a pro-life, pro-gun
Democrat by the name of John Bel Edwards.

Governor-elect Edwards abides by the West Point honor code.
His form of leadership is to serve others. As shown by example.

    the US.

Beginning to think? I predicted Hillary would follow Obama back

The Republican Party (as a national party) self-destructed faster
than I thought it would. The Democratic Party is not far behind,
so don't get your hopes up too high.

A trial lawyer who writes novels as a sideline came up with this
    on his blog -

Character - the mental and moral qualities that distinguish an
    individual.

Caricature - a comically or grotesquely exaggerated representation
    of someone or something.

    [Bruce Hanify, http://www.brucehanify.com/]

Our politicians seem to have gone from character to caricature -
in both major parties. Donald Trump as the Republican nominee for
president? Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee for president?
Neither person would have been taken as being a serious candidate
a generation ago. And yet one of them is most likely to become
our next president. That is a scary thought.

Considering that there hasn't been an honest election in this country
in at least half a century one can say that the last freely elected president of this country was Eisenhower.

When given the choice between bad and worse, which do you choose?

Not sure what future, if any, there will be after that.

I don't worry about it I turn 71 on Sunday (6th)m, an hypertensive, diabetic and have stage 4 kidney disease. I'll probably be dead in

    Happy birthday in advance.

If Hillary gets the nod, I am sure she will replace Obamacare
with Hillarycare. No way her supporters or detractors are gonna
let her get away with Clintoncare.

Notice I did not say repeal Obamacare. I said replace. And that
is her winning strategy. The reason why she wins and everybody
else loses. Gotta give the voters what they want. Even if they
have absolutely no idea what they want. Give it to them anyway.
They will love you for it. And thank you later.

David Koresh and his group of Branch Davidians taught
    us that lesson at Waco.

Wrongo. Those folks just wanted to be left alone, the
government chose to attack them, they posed no threat to
    anyone.

I went into that in depth over the years, studying what was
published by they Koresh supporters and some by the govt, but
heavily on the videos put out, such as "Waco: Rules of
Engagement". And it's follow up that had a similary title. I
still have them on CD or DVD, if I can find them.

Koresh was gathering weapons in anticipation of an end of the
world battle. When the US Marshals showed up the Davidians
    opened fire.

The LEOs did some dumb things, but the Davidians committed
    murder, and, eventually, suicide.

David Koresh thought he could escape the compound.
But somebody shot him between the eyes.

Jim Jones thought he could escape the jungles of Guyana.
But somebody shot him between the eyes.

In both cases, I think his own people did him in.
Both Koresh and Jones had lots of cash on hand.
Had they been able to escape, who knows how long
they would have been able to stay hidden?

Koresh was gathering weapons in anticipation of an end of the
world battle. When the US Marshals showed up the Davidians
    opened fire.

Koresh or one of his people had purchased a certain part to a semi-
automatic weapon that, in federal firearms law, added up to `the
    machine gun'.

The LEOs did some dumb things, but the Davidians committed
    murder, and, eventually, suicide.

In their usual, heavy-handed way, they tried a `dynamic entry'. Only
those inside the compound were a lot more alert than the LEO's were
led to believe. Another example of federal law gone awry was the
    Ruby Ridge incident.

It was that `kick-in-the-door' mentality that in both instances led to unnecessary tragedy. In Waco, so much noise and speculation in the
media on the spot, coupled with camera shots that probably still aren't
fully explained (if not outright mis-interpreted), nobody really knows
    for sure what exactly happened.

But you're right, the Koresh people committed murder at the very least,
and who knows what other crimes would have come to light.

I thought it was a gun altering charge -- they'd modified a shotgun for a client (ATF agent) to be under the minimum length?

Seems like an odd prohibition, as a semi-auto 9mm sidearm can do an equivalent amount of damage and fit in a pocket.
