    I think I read somewhere that 2024 is going to be the year of the fidoverse (or something like that...)

    Kind of, sort of? FidoNet is one "social network". The Fediverse is a "ensemble of social networks that can communicate with each other". Since other FTNs (other "social networks") can communciate with FidoNet nodes (netmail, gated echomail), that is similar. So the Fidoverse it is. :-)
