Have you considered Internet Rex? Been using it for a couple of years now without problems. Not sure of current version, but I'm using v2.28a.
It supports FTP, BinkP, Ident, SMTP, POP3, Finger, and serves up a mean casserole if time permits.<g>

I figured it out. I use: ftp -i -s:net.scr It still needs some
tweaking, but it's working.
