generally speaking, you only need one file... if i were you, i'd probably select the newest one for your OS, which you don't even mention, BTW... 64bit if you have that, otherwise, 32bit of course... probably a gcc, watcom, or msvc
build... you likely don't want to mess with cygwin stuff... gcc, watcom, or msvc will be more direct and not have layers of supporting dll/so files to mess
with... i haven't looked at the above site so i don't know what is actually there but it shouldn't be that hard to select one from the latest ones posted ;) if you have problems with that one then back up one more to the previous version and try it...

assuming you already have binkd set up and operation and all you're looking to do is to update it, it should be as simple as building (if needed) and replacing the current binary you have... no changes to your config file should be necessary...

There were about 15 files... none of which it was clear what was what...

    what...

First is the program name - binkd followed by its version. The latest version is 1.1a99 so you look at names beginning with binkd11a99. There are 5 of them. The version is followed by the compiler used during build process and is it intended for 64-bit OS or not. So if you have a 64-bit Windows you have the only option

    binkd11a99-msvc10x64-4gb-ipv6-static-perl-zlib-bzlib2.zip

It is built using Microsoft Visual Studio 10 C++ compiler for 64-bit Windows. If you have Windows 95 or Windows 98 you have the only option of

    binkd11a99-msvc-binkd9x-static.zip

The rest of the 3 files are for the 32-bit Windows but they are built using different compilers: mingw32 is an open source compiler, msvc10 is mentioned above and msvc denotes msvc 6 I think. You may take whichever you like, I'd take msvc10

    binkd11a99-msvc10-4gb-ipv6-static-perl-zlib-bzlib2.zip

i believe the various file names are explained in the FAQ... i don't remember them without looking but i've got a script that grabs the ones that i need so i
don't really have to remember them anyway ;)

I'll go back and read it over ... I may want to figure out to compile a version for my Pi... I have no clue what I'm doing though.... Right now I'm running binkit scripts with SBBS to get mail in and out.

I have IRex running to take care of my windows and or OS2 server(s) pushing mail around.

I think you'll find this painless. I build binkd on my linux box without any issue.

Binkit is what I use here and am happy with it.
