• Key Generator

From Daryl Stout@1:19/33 to ZAZZ on Thu May 17 13:50:00 2018
    Ruben,

Give me an email address and I will send you her key generator. She gave Z>this to me around May of 2016. I am sure it is alright to give this to you Z>also.

Try wx1der at gmail dot com -- if that does not work, send it to
wx1der at yahoo dot com or wx1der at winlink dot org -- GMail doesn't
    allow processing of EXE files.

She has been out of the door business for several years.

    Ruben,

Sent you an email to both accounts.

Got the one in GMail...haven't checked the other ones...and won't get
    to it tonight.

However, I tried it with the info generated, and it still would NOT
work for either Leviathan's Reef or Punchline with the BBS Name of
Shining Star Doors and the Sysop name of Enjoy! -- it kept saying "not a
valid key"...and it matched the key file that had been posted. I'm not
sure if it's looking for a previous version of those games...or data
in the registration string(s) is making the program barf.

I even used it to check the registration keys that I had. I originally
had registered only a few of them, but went back, and registered all
of them for $12...and the keys did match up.

So, what I may do, is do like Doug Rhea of bbsfiles.com did with one
set of doors where the code generator had been lost...make the
registration info with my copy of the 2 doors noted above, so Sysops
wanting to use those 2 as a registered copy, can do so.

Since Nannette Thacker got out of the door registration business years
ago, I see this as the only viable option. The BBS name of Shining Star
Doors, and the Sysop of Enjoy! works with all the rest of her doors.

Let me know what you think about that idea. One of my Visiting Sysops
wants to use Leviathan's Reef on his BBS, but the key generator for
those 2 games isn't working, as it were.

I don't have issues with that neither. When I last corresponded with her in 2016 she gave me the key generator and to have at it.

Ok. Just tried it and I was able to register Leviathin Reef using my Name

I checked the strings with what I had already, and they matched. What
I may do is set up different string for that one Sysop, and see if that
will work for him. The "Shining Star Doors" for the BBS, and the

We tried the key "Shining Star Doors" for the BBS, and "Enjoy!" for

I've debated about putting that on an answering machine, to make telemarketers think they got hold of a fax line. <G>

For a while I put the SIT tone in my outgoing message, that "boop boop BEEP" tone you hear before you hear "I'm sorry, the number you have reached has been disconnected or no longer in service"

Quite a few predictive dialers use that sound to flag a number as non-valid and take it out of their list.

My mother-in-law at the time would hear the tone and hang up, so it was a double-win.

wait a minute did I hear someething?

That's just the sound of helicopter blade wash outside your window. Nothing to worry about.

That explains the whoosh whoosh I heard.

    Kurt,

For a while I put the SIT tone in my outgoing message, that "boop boop BEEP" KW>tone you hear before you hear "I'm sorry, the number you have reached has be KW>disconnected or no longer in service"

Sort of like the tagline, telling that the 911 number is no longer in service. That can happen at times, because of the loss of communication
    lines.

Quite a few predictive dialers use that sound to flag a number as non-valid KW>take it out of their list.

Awhile back, I had the following recording on my answering machine.

Me: Hello, there is Daryl Stout.

[Sound Effect (ham mic key up)].

Glen Whatley (the ham radio operator who first spotted the F-5 tornado,
that hit Wichita Falls, Texas, on April 10, 1979) -- I edited out the
part of the Sax Center, noted below:

Anyone within the sound of my voice...there is a tornado on the ground
[near the Sax Center in Wichita Falls, Texas]. Please take cover.

    [Sound Effect (tornado siren)].

Me: Unfortunately, this is the time of year in Arkansas...when severe thunderstorms...producing heavy rain, high winds, large hail, flash
flooding, and tornadoes...can develop, and move into an area very
    rapidly.

    [Sound Effect (screaming hurricane winds)].

Me: Because of this, I'm currently gathering important weather data, and
can't come to the phone at this time. So, please your name, message, and callback number after the tone. I'll get back with you as soon as I can.
    Thank you.

    [end of recording].

I'm not a meteorologist, but an amateur weather enthusiast. I know
enough to be dangerous...and "I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last
    night!!" <G>

My mother-in-law at the time would hear the tone and hang up, so it was a KW>double-win.

    All righty, then. :P

Did you fart, or was that the modem whistling at you?? <G>
I remember the days of dial-up...an incoming call was music to the Sysop's ears.

Unless it was at 2am & the modem was echoing throughout the apartment. While I
immedaitely jumped fromt he bed as a child on Christmas morning, the thumping footsteps of my 5Ton wife wasnt so appealing!!

Ah, the goodl ole days. Its a wonder I survived 30 years with that woman. But I still have my Zyxel & Robotics modems!!
