• DosEmu for windows 11

From Matt Munson@1:218/109 to All on Mon Dec 20 09:29:10 2021
I think we likely need a dosemu type element for windows 11 if people want to run bbses in that operating system. Can the ntvdm thingie work in windows 11?

Synchronet/Mystic will run in 64-bit Windows, it's just 16-bit DOS apps
(like utilities and doors) that can't run in a 64-bit OS.

I've got 32-bit archivers and most of my local games are deathly quiet. I'm using one of those door game servers nowadays. I'm looking forward to moving to 64-bit when my current box dies (a Thinkpad running a 32-bit CPU with 3
    GB of RAM)

Synchronet v3.19 (under development) now supports NTVM64, which enables 16-bit DOS app (e.g. door game) support on 64-bit Windows.

You just said NTVDM64 doesn't run under Windows 11.

    Which is it, Rob? XD

That's correct, it doesn't run under Windows 11.

64-bit editions of Windows 7 through Windows 10. Not Windows 11.

    There's always a chance I suppose. Here's a thread for discussion/follow-up: https://github.com/leecher1337/ntvdmx64/issues/140
