    I don't see a realy problem doing this, although curiosity makes me
    ask why!

    The problem that I do see is that the canister filter will go
    anaerobic during the night eating up all the oxygen in the water in
    that filter. This can cause loss of nitrifying bacteria as well as fluctuations in pH due to the O2 loss. __________________________________________________
