  • New Betta & Tetras

    Hi all,

    Long time reader first time writter here. We just setup 2 new 10gallon
    aquarium with a single male betta in each + 2 Glowstick + 2 Odessa tetras. They
    dont seem to be eating the betta food nor the tetra food. Is this a common aclimatization problem or should we be looking for new food?

    Hello Phil. It's been a few days since you made your post. I was just
    wondering if your fish had started eating yet. They should by now, unless something is seriously wrong in your tanks.

    Also, you didn't mention how soon you added the fish after setting up your tanks.

    Nope- they began eating a few days after adding them. It is as I thought, just give them time to get settled in to the new environment.

    Also, you didn't mention how soon you added the fish after setting up your tanks.

    We added the fish to the tanks about 2 hours after getting them setup. If I had
    to do it over, I would get the tanks & everything setup before purchasing the fish. This would give the environment time to settle before introducing the fish. Thankfully fish are a relisient creature.
