    Hi Guys,

I thought I might say hello.

MY call is VY2XU and I am from PEI in Canada.

I am active on HF, some digital and mostly voice.

Right now our packet system is down, so I am stuck.

I also run an echolink simplex node and am updating that with my new "XU"
    call.

I have a lot of stuff to change.

    Best 73,

    Alan

No HF here, I have an HF rig, but no antenna installed. I am quite active on digital, mostly D-STAR, but some C4FM, DMR, and echolink . For D-STAR, I can usually be found on XRF005B.

These days, I'm mostly active locally, though I do have Echolink and IRLP capability, with some D-STAR as well. I have a DMR radio, but no infrastructure in this area.

In case you have not looked it up, it is on the east coast, just a few KM from the coast of New Brunswick. There is now a bridge connecting it to the mainland. There is a web cam but the link does not seem to be working at the moment. Then there is this link with a picture

    Hey Alan! I'm KM4UXV - I have my General, but don't
have an HF rig yet. I am 2m/440 mobile from mine or
my wife's truck. :-) Mostly just local repeaters or
repeaters in areas I travel through.

I've used echolink some, but prefer using the radio
    :-)

We have plenty of repeaters in the Boston area, so I can even enjoy

I wonder if any of you guys are doing/interested in FidoNet over radio packet which seems to be a good merge of both worlds, the offline textmode FidoNet
and 1200/2400/9600 AX.25 ham radio packet.

That's one thing I've not been too successful with - an HT... All
the repeaters are just too far away.

If the band opens, I can use one with an external antenna to hit
ONE of the repeaters, but that's it. With my mobile, though, I can
    hit a long way off!

Pretty sure that you are familiar with this resource . http://www.repeaterbook.com

Oh yeah - and I use that to program in repeaters for areas I'm going
    to be traveling throuh too.

I don't have a way of using a computer with radio right now.
