What for? The Volkswagen Group sold 10.8 million cars in 2018 and made a profit of 11.8 billion Euros. I don't know how many cars Tesla sold, but they lost almost one billion Euros by doing that. And I don't see why anyone would by a Tesla. Refueling my Mercedes takes less than fives minutes and then I can drive top speed for more than two hours, with a Tesla it's the other way around.
I have had a K2 Golf,Passat and currently own a 2013 Jetta.
I understand, I was only wondering because I believe in the VW brand not only for the reliability but also for the fun-factor as they are a blast to drive. I have had a K2 Golf,Passat and currently own a 2013 Jetta.

If you want fun with a Golf II, you need to do some "minor" modifications: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIa_drJsKlY
