SeaTel works great. I was wondering if you can incorporate rlogin also
so that I can connect to some game servers.

RLOGIN is not available in WINServer yet. I have it on the feature request list
I am preparing for Hector to send to him on Friday, if not before.

Are you on the AUP? If so, you should have gotten an update to 7.0 for this like I did.
Are you on the AUP? If so, you should have gotten an update to 7.0 for t like I did.
Yes, I am. Did not too long ago update.
The there should be a PXWINS-SETUP.EXE or something like that in your
PXW directory that you need to run to update to the latest release. As always, back up before upgrading :)

So the pxwims-setup.exe should be run again? The first time I got it I
ran it, so I guess I got an updated one and need to run that one also.
What is the date on the setup file you have from your last AUP run?
Here is the latest I have:
02/02/2019 02:23 PM 3,654,834 pxwin-setup.exe
But, yes, each time that file comes down on the AUP, it has to be run
again. The AUP does not run it for you.

I have that one and no I have not run it. I will run it this morning

Yep, still working. Also still hoping RLogin from wildcat can be done
in the near future.

I asked Hector years ago to do something about the RLogin so that it
would be
compatible with Synchronet and Mystic and he said NO... Somebody will
have to
write a WCBasic file that would/should do the trick.

Outbound rlogin or inbound?

Outbound.
I asked Hector years ago to do something about the RLogin so that it wou compatible with Synchronet and Mystic and he said NO... Somebody will ha write a WCBasic file that would/should do the trick.
Inbound rlogin would have to be a function of wcOnline.exe I would
think, and not a function of a WCX.
When I was speaking I was thinking about outbound, even when I was
talking with Hector at the time. He just stated that it was
unsecure... maybe he was thinking about just outbound side of things.
Still would be nice to have an outbound rLogin mod for WINServer that would expedite an automatic login like SBBS & Mystic do...
I might be able to write something that will let you do an interactive RLOGIN session to start off with, then go from there.

It'll just have to pass either the user name or the user handle and Synchronet or mystic bbs will log you on automatically

Yeah, but it's difficult when you get nothing but a blank screen on connect.

No, the rlogin protocol in general, inbound and outbound, is as insecure
as telnet is.
Robert do you use WINS to poll any qwk mail??
Robert do you use WINS to poll any qwk mail??
Exclusively. If it's from a Synchronet system, that is what I use wcQWKnet for.

Is that a utility you made?? I use to use wcqwk and it worked okay... never had a problem with it. I have forgot how I made it run. I need
to figure out how to get a cfg file to poll vert.

my system up.

if you want to write batch files and script the Windows FTP.EXE client. wcQWKnet does all that using WINServer's only FTP client code. wcQWKnet
Yes I'm talking about WinSserver did it with batch files no script.
and I will fix the name thing when I'm done sorry,
I'm getting ready to put Winserver back up as well as soon as i sort some things out..

Hey Sam! :)
I'm getting ready to put Winserver back up as well as soon as i sort s things out..
Very cool! If you are interested, I can get you hooked up to WINSnet and XpressNet :)
hey Robert, Are you using PX as front end or are you doing something similar to me I run irex and PX people say it will eliminate like Irex?
As for Winsnet and xpressnet that will be fine as long as I dont need to poll them right away It seems when my system upgraded to 7 and new PX
alot of my stuff was missing and I havent found my backup yet to see
what I need to do to correct it. its been over a year since I messed
with WC Thanks Sam

so I wrote wcQWKnet to handle the polling, tossing, etc using
WINServer's own internal code. It actually works out quite well and a number of people use it. Especially since I have made it a free product now :)

Okay Ill give it a try since for some reason my batch doesn't seem
too work any more. Its say authentication failure and I don't know
why it works on my laptop but not my server. I copied from laptop to
server.

Okay But I'm having trouble with getting FSX and Survnet and VKradio
polling with out instructions it really hard to get the other
networks to poll and receive mail. Any help in this matter would be appreciated. I'll buy the first round of beer!

Yes, wcQWKnet is a WCX that I wrote and maintain.

OMG, this is an old old message...
I tried that in the past and couldn't get it to work... I run/ran a
batch file using iFTP as a client to do QWK, works fine. U think
Hector would have done something internal, it would have been
nothing for him to do.

Hector Santos made QWK via FTP available on the Server side of Wildcat!
more than ten years ago.
I am retired now, but I ran QWK/FTP for my small business for several
