I wonder if the connection is dropped because there is no activity on the connection. This can happen on both the software and hardware side, so this is why you see things like "NOOP" in IRC, FTP, telnet, etc, where there may be long periods of time when no data is transfered between.

(Or maybe you don't see them, because they are designed to be "transparent" to then end user, but they are there)

I've seen issues where Power settings turn off ethernet when idle on laptops, and both hardware and software firewalls that kill idle connections after no activity on a connection after a period of time... all sorts of things.

Wish this was it but its not, there is actually a ping being sent to from
each client to the server. In sense like a keep-a-live type connection. It breaks due to other issues, the code is pretty old and pretty known issue.

Most of us have reconnect scripts/batch files that keep us connected.

Was hopeful g00r00 would take this and add to mystic one day. =)

    Cheers!

I do have something on my list that would provide a similar experience but I don't know when I'll get around to working on it. I have to finish moving over the existing servers first to MIS2, and that has taken me forever.

Might be taking a while, but has been great so far been loving running one server vs 2 and has been very stable. =)
