What virtual modem, and preferably FREE or very low cost

IP FOSSIL if your VM doesn't include it?

Is using Windows ... grab NetSerial ($25 to sysops) ..... www.pcmicro.com ... been using it for a while and it works GREAT!

While I'd like to see an IP capable FD, I am not really a programmer so OSS

You can make IP based calls via FD ... I do it all the time to get my mail.

Just edit your FDNODE.CTL file to reflect specific nodes the "PHONE" section of the file.

... Forget the manual, phone the author at home!

Can you share your set up for FD (version 2.26SW or older V2.02NC?) to handle connections only via IP (no modem at all) ...

    What Virtual Modem ?
What Virtual Fossil if the above doesn't have it?

Your insight and knowledge on setting up FD for IP only would be very greartly apprceiated.

I'd switch back to FD over Taurus in a heartbeat as I am more familar with it, but I have to have BinkP support to my local hub, they use IREX.

    Thanks in advance.

    Rick

Under OS/2 and SIO/VMODEM it was different, when I used COM/IP and BNU.COM it was a hair different. I'm using NetSerial (www.pcmicro.com) and NetFoss now ... but sure I'll post my FDNODE.CTL file.

Only issue with FD is the Zmodem send/receive BLOWS. :( Sometimes it will just NOT send and just sit there trying to resend for DAYS. Receive ususally works well, but SEND stinks. :(
