First, I am not a programmer - at all. However. I should be by now, I have so many ideas.

Second, here is the idea, have some addons that make Synchro look like /X AmiExpress BBS for the Amiga. I am seeing more and more people have an Amiga related BBS, maybe we could have some more addons related to this.

Third, a more simple way to configure binkd. I hate to say it, but Mystic has an awesome way of doing it. Why can't we?

Finally, thanks for reading - hoping to see those additions soon.
    :)

can you be more specific? you can make synchronet look and act like any other bbs software by editing the command shell and the text.dat string file. you dont have to be a programmer.

the coolest bbses i've seen were done by people who couldnt program.

It's never too late to learn. In the meantime you're stuck waiting for someone willing and able to make these things for you.

Second, here is the idea, have some addons that make Synchro look like /X AmiExpress BBS for the Amiga. I am seeing more and more people have an Amiga related BBS, maybe we could have some more addons related to this.

I'm vaguely familiar with the Ami/X aesthetic but it's not clear what you're looking for. On the surface this sounds like a customization job:

    http://wiki.synchro.net/custom:index

Display files, a command shell, text.dat, etc. would all play a part. Slightly more advanced, SyncTERM's new-ish font support might be useful in this case - but leave that for later.

You might take a crack at it yourself; many a novice sysop has bludgeoned their way through these things (though many more have simply stayed with the stock configuration).

Third, a more simple way to configure binkd. I hate to say it, but Mystic has an awesome way of doing it. Why can't we?

Editing some ini files doesn't seem that bad to me, but I haven't bothered with FTN in ages so I have no idea how onerous the setup currently is.

How does Mystic do it? Are you after some kind of menu-driven configurator for binkit, tickit, etc.? Maybe someone out there uses these tools and knows enough javascript to put something together. Tools are available for making scfg-like interfaces for things like this.

Finally, thanks for reading - hoping to see those additions soon.

Not that it matters all that much, but the 'Synchronet Discussion' sub is probably the best place for this topic.

I don't know what AmiExpress looks like but it should be simple enough to emulate ANY bbs interface with synchronet with JS or even Baja.

I've always used Taurus, Argus, and another that I cannot think of at the moment but all seemed very easy to configure, Argus even had a online step-by step config guide. I no longer use any type of FTN network so it don't matter, QWK servers all my needs. have you looked into the binkit.js module?

have you looked into the binkit.js module?

I have used binkit.js and it works well when the remote used binkd but a few of my links are using other mailers like Mystic's mailer or Irex and was not able to get a connection. I also connected at one time with a node that ran BBBS and I don't think BBBS even supports MD5.

I should do some exepimenting and see how it goes with binkit.

Hands down this is true. One thing I love about Synchronet is that you can make it look like anything you want. I've proven this time and time again.

As other people have suggested, this is a custom job. You'll probably
want a baja source set of menu commands, then your .asc menus. It's
really not too difficult. You might want to start by taking the default sychronet menu items and making your own copies and start customizing
from there. It's often easier to change what you're familiar with and
see the results. Reposition things on the screen, change some graphics
    or colors, etc.
