• BAJA - Linux

I'm having some msg problems here, please excuse this if it's a dbl post.

Alright, are there any differences in the way moduser.dat is called from SBBS4WIN then SBBS4UNIX? The reason I ask is because I have a BAJA mod here that modifies user data, when a user in on a Win node it makes all the changes and those changes are saved.

Now if you login to the Linux node and do the same, in the mod it appears to be changed but when you exit, the data isn't saved (meaning you go back into the mod and its back the way it was). I realize the Linux version is yet ready for doors and whatnot but from what I've seen this should be working with no problems. <<-- that is 'isn't yet ready`.

It's not of great importance, was just seeing if simple BAJA mods would work with changing user data, unfortunalty I don't have the source code for this mod anymore. Again, works wonderfully in the win nodes...

When you "in the mod it appears to change" what do you mean? If you load up UserEdit (on Windows), and do a refresh of the user record, do you see the data change (when your mod is used on Windows or Linux)?

Without the source to the mod, it may be difficult to debug. Can you send me the .bin anyway?

The data does not change when using the mod via linux. I did find out that it does indeed create the moduser.dat in the node directory but its a 0byte file everytime when the particular mod is run from linux.

I believe you the the mod on your system, SHC (first one I used to test). I wrote the cheesy little game and if I remember correctly I had some sort of flag in there for a 0/1 unregistered/registered, it sounds like that is getting in the way for some reason (should be disabled though).

After an hr of writing that msg I loaded up some other mods other people have written, didn't have a problem, even my old ACH works.

My guess is its just that particular mod and the way I wrote it long ago. I'm trying to reproduce the same thing with some code I wrote up quickly (trying to mess with a reg/unreg'd flag like in SHC, only I can't remember that far back -- to the BAJA manual!).

2 out of 3 mod's worked in linux.
